Ranidom PD Syrup

Description

Ranidom PD Syrup is a pediatric formulation containing an antacid and anti-reflux agent. It is mainly used to treat acidity, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), heartburn, and indigestion in infants and young children by reducing stomach acid production and protecting the stomach lining.

Composition

Each 5 ml of Ranidom PD Syrup contains:

• Domperidone – 5 mg (Prokinetic agent)

• Ranitidine – 75 mg (H2-receptor antagonist)

• Domperidone helps in faster gastric emptying and prevents nausea and vomiting.

• Ranitidine reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, providing relief from acid-related discomfort.

Uses

Ranidom PD Syrup is prescribed for:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in children

• Indigestion and bloating

• Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting

• Peptic ulcers and acid peptic disorders

• Relief from heartburn and gastric irritation

Dosage

• Dosage is based on the child’s weight, age, and medical condition.

• It is generally administered 2–3 times daily before meals or as directed by a pediatrician.

• Use a proper measuring device for accurate dosing.

Side Effects

Possible side effects may include:

• Dry mouth

• Drowsiness

• Diarrhea

• Constipation

• Rash or allergic reactions (rare)

• Headache

Most side effects are mild and temporary. Seek medical advice if serious symptoms like severe abdominal pain, yellowing of eyes/skin, or irregular heartbeat occur.

Precautions

• Use cautiously in children with liver or kidney impairment.

• Inform the doctor if the child is taking any other medicines, especially other antacids or antiemetics.

• Long-term use should be avoided without medical supervision due to potential side effects like nutrient malabsorption or gastric infections.

• Should not be used in neonates unless specifically prescribed.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.

• Protect from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

• Keep out of reach of children.
