Description

GMR M1 Tablet is an oral antidiabetic medication designed to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It combines two active ingredients: Glimepiride (1 mg) and Metformin (500 mg), which work synergistically to control blood glucose levels when diet, exercise, and monotherapy are insufficient.

Mechanism of Action:

• Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.

• Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and enhances insulin sensitivity.

Indications:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, particularly when lifestyle modifications and single-agent therapy do not achieve adequate glycemic control.

Dosage and Administration:

• Take the tablet orally with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.

• Dosage should be individualized based on patient response and under medical supervision.

Precautions:

• Not recommended for individuals with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal or hepatic impairment, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

• Avoid alcohol consumption, as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis.

Common Side Effects:

• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort)

• Taste disturbances

Storage:

• Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
