Levolin Syrup
Description
Levolin Syrup is a bronchodilator medication used to treat and prevent symptoms of bronchospasm in conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps relax the muscles in the airways, making breathing easier.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Levolin Syrup contains:
Levosalbutamol (also known as levalbuterol) – 1 mg
Levosalbutamol is the active R-enantiomer of salbutamol, providing effective bronchodilation with potentially fewer side effects compared to the racemic mixture.
Uses
Levolin Syrup is prescribed for:
Asthma: Relief from wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Management of airway obstruction and associated symptoms.
Bronchospasm: Prevention and treatment of bronchospasm in adults and children aged 6–11 years with reversible obstructive airway disease.
Dosage
The dosage is determined by the healthcare provider based on the patient’s age, weight, and severity of the condition.
Typically, it is administered 2–3 times daily.
A 4–6-hour interval between doses is generally recommended.
Always use a proper measuring device to ensure accurate dosing.
